Building Resilience in
Families Through Art

Building Resilience in Families Through Art is a safe space for families surviving chronic stress and trauma. These sessions will give you and your family a special time to bond in new ways that weren’t possible during the chronic stress/trauma. You will have fun and develop greater trust and respect for each other. These workshops help families explore where they have come from and the kind of future they envision for themselves. Learn to reconnect in a healthy way and make space for all your feelings.

Unresolved trauma and chronic stress affect the well-being of future generations. While there are many ways inter-generational trauma is passed down, it is often transmitted through the parent-child relationship.

Expressive arts (visual art, music, and movement) are wonderful modalities to use in working through tough issues. They give space between the person and their negative experience, help them slow down, and reduce the shame. Using the arts is a great way to start hard and difficult conversations and get one’s emotions out in a safe way so that change can start to happen.

Each session is led by a licensed trauma therapist, has a different theme, including simple meditations, and provide a time of sharing.
