Social Worker

Katie is a Licensed Master in Social Work in MD and DC. Katie has a Bachelor in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Katie also has a Masters in Social Work from the Catholic University of America.

Katie is originally from Honduras and has grown up in both Honduras and the DMV area in U.S.

Katie has worked extensively with children, adolescents, young adults, and families for 7 years as a therapist. Katie has passion for working with survivors of sexual trauma and human trafficking.

Katie has experience working as a clinician in non-profits, government agencies, university and private practice settings serving clients who have endured different types of trauma, life transitions, and or struggle with a mental health diagnosis.

Katie is passionate about human trafficking prevention and is part of the DC and MD human trafficking prevention committees. Katie has experience presenting on human trafficking prevention and consulting on traffiking cases with her colleagues.

Katie is moving the R:199 mission forward by sharing with her professional network about R:199 and their services. And by participating in R:199 events.
